CASTRO COMPOSITES is a company belonging to Resinas Castro S.L., dedicated to the commercialization of all types of products related to the composites sector (composite materials) for more than 25 years. We are specialists in thermosetting resins (polyesters, vinyl esters, epoxies, polyurethanes, silicones, etc.), reinforcement fibers (aramid, carbon, glass, etc.), and all complementary products involved in related applications: gel and top coats, putties, adhesives, cores for sandwich structures (PVC, PU, balsa wood, etc.), vacuum materials, etc. Our headquarters are located in the industrial estate "A Granxa," in Porriño (Pontevedra), a strategic place situated a few kilometers north of Portugal and just 15 km from Vigo, from where we serve our national and international customers.
Since our foundation, our goal has been to fully meet the present and future needs of our clients in the field of composites, placing a special emphasis on technical advice. We are particularly focused on the continuous improvement of our training courses to help our clients enhance the technical skills of their employees. Resinas Castro has adapted to the changing times, which is why we are committed to embracing new technologies, investing in research and development, and exploring new areas in the application of all our products.

THAT
WE SUPPLY
RESINS
Thermosetting resins are polymers that react thanks to the addition of a catalyst or a hardener causing an exotherm reaction. This reaction can also be boosted by UV or IR radiations or just by a source of heat.
GEL COATS & TOP COATS
A gelcoat is a material, based on a modified thermosetting resin, used to provide a high-quality finish on the visible surface of a fibre-reinforced composite that is used on mould during any of the common composite processes.
ADHESIVES & PUTTIES
An adhesive is a product that, when applied to the surface of different materials, holds them together and prevents them from separating. Putties can also act as adhesives, but are primarily used as fillers in surface or structural finishing applications.
PAINTS & VARNISHES
This section is specialized in advanced coatings and varnishes. We select for you all kind of materials on the basis of resistance to abrasion and weathering caused by outdoor weathering, as well as elasticity, adhesion to laminates and other surfaces.
PRIMERS
The priming process is essential to obtain quality results and high resistance. At Castro Composites, we have a wide range of epoxy and polyester primers for any type of application.
MOULD SILICONES
Silicone rubbers consist essentially of silicone polymers and fillers. They undergo high-temperature (HTV) or room-temperature vulcanization (RTV) with suitable reactants, during which the uncured compound in a plastic state is transformed into an elastomeric rubber with a three-dimensional structure.
FIBRE REINFORCEMENTS
Castro Composites offers you a wide catalogue of fibre reinforcements, ranging form the more economic glass chopped strand mats to technical multiaxial glass fabrics, carbon fabrics, aramids (mainly Kevlar), high-molecular weight polypropylene fabrics (Innegra), natural fabrics (flax), as well as combinations of these materials.
PREPREGS
Pre-preg is a term for "pre-impregnated" composite fibers where a matrix material, such as epoxy, is already present. The fibers often take the form of a weave and the matrix is used to bond them together and to other components during manufacture.
PIGMENTS & ADDITIVES
In this section we offer all kind of curing additives necessary for the polymerisation of thermosetting polyester and vinylester resins, and their gel coats and top coats; as well as all kind of products to modify the the resins propierties: pigments, mineral or thermoplastic fillers and a complete range of solvents or their substitutes for the cleaning of brushes and rollers.
PIPES & EDGES
In the section we offer a wide range of carbon fibre products: carbon fibre strips, rods, tubes, angles, U profiles, and many more. We offer a wide range of variable section carbon fibre profiles impregnated with high quality epoxy resins. You will find square, rectangular, flat and round profiles.
VACUUM MATERIALS
In this section we offer process materials including vacuum bagging consumables, infusion materials and reusable vacuum systems. The processes in which these materials are used include prepreg processing, resin infusion, hand layup, filament winding, compression moulding of thermoplastic composites and glass lamination.
SANDWICH CORES
A sandwich-structured composite is a special class of composite materials which is manufactured by attaching two thin but stiff skins to a lightweight but thick core. The core material is normally low strength material, but its higher thickness provides the sandwich composite with high bending stiffness with overall low density.
TOOLS & ANCILLARIES
in this section we offer you scissors for cutting all types of fibres, external mixing cannulas for adhesive cartridges, manual or pneumatic guns for the application of Crestabond and Sika adhesives, as well as a wide range of other tools.
MOLDS/PATTERNS PREPARATION
We offer you polyester and vinylester varnishes that can be sanded and polished, polishing and buffing pastes, MIRKA sanding and polishing machines, as well as all kinds of accessories for the use of these tools, such as foams and woollen polishing caps, pads and pads with suction, polishing plates, sandpaper, etc.
RELEASE AGENTS & SEALERS
In this section you can purchase all kind of release agents: semi-permanent, waxes and polyvinyl alcohol. At Castro Composites we have focused on giving our customers the advice that more is not necessarily better when it comes to the application of release agents.
